Do you have the skills to survive on your own without support?
Can you elude pursuers over varied terrain while taking care of
your needs? This fieldcourse will teach you how to survive with
a minimal amount of gear and how to utilize natural resources
for finding food, water, and shelter along with in-depth land
navigation skills. Training will emphasize the ability to evade
while taking care of your priorities.
Day One: Survival priorities including clothing and gear
selection, natural & improvised shelters, water
location/purification, firemaking methods, traps/snares, edible
plants, wilderness first-aid kits, and survival firearms.
Day Two: Counter-tracking skills, methods for covering
tracks and eluding pursuers, camouflage and stalking skills,
concealment shelters, trailguards, Bail-out bags, and
high-energy survival foods for being on the move.
Day Three: Land Navigation, map-reading, map & compass,
adjusting for declination, barehanded navigation, GPS and how to
read/plot UTM coordinates. The weekend will culminate with a
cross-country evasion exercise employing all of your
concealment, land nav., and survival skills along the way while
pursuers search for you while making your way to an assigned
point.
A complete gear list will be sent upon registering. As this is a
skills course and not a "living off the land" course,
participants can bring any gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc…) they
need to be comfortable to camp out or obtain lodging in town.
Instruction will take place each day from 8 am to 4 pm. Begins
and ends in Flagstaff and we will be in cool mountain temps
(70-80 during the day) and not in the desert.
Please Note: We offer a 15% discount for active-duty military
and law enforcement personnel. |
